Bixolon XD5-40 Series Desktop Printer

The Bixolon XD5-40 series includes the XD5-40d, XD5-40t, and XD5-40tR models, each with 203 dpi, and variants for direct thermal, thermal transfer, and RFID-enabled printing. In addition, there are the XD5-43d and XD5-43t, each with 300 dpi and available in direct thermal or thermal transfer printing versions.
Thanks to its compact design and wide range of variants and options, the Bixolon XD5-40 is highly versatile, whether in retail, transportation and logistics, or even in a laboratory.

The XD5-40 prints at an operating temperature of 5°–40°C, with a maximum print speed ranging from 102 mm/sec to 178 mm/sec, depending on the model. The print width is up to 108 mm for the XD5-40d and up to 105.7 mm for the XD5-40t. The media should be on a 25.4 mm or 38.1 mm core with a maximum roll diameter of 127 mm. The media width can range from 15 to 118 mm. The XD5-40t requires a transfer ribbon compatible with the labels, on a 12.7 mm or 38.1 mm core, with a maximum length of 300 m and a width of 33–110 mm. Additional media handling options include on-site installable cutters (blades) or peelers (label dispensers).

Thanks to Smart Media Detection, various media types and formats are automatically recognized, regardless of whether they are continuous, with a gap, or with a black mark.
The XD5-40 comes standard with 64 MB of SDRAM and 128 MB of flash memory. However, versions with 256 MB of SDRAM and 256 MB of flash memory are also available as options should this be required.
Optionally, you can also purchase configurations with an LCD display to further enhance user-friendliness.
All configurations of the XD5-40 feature a USB and a USB host interface; however, these can optionally be supplemented with a serial interface, Ethernet port, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
The XD5-40 can be controlled via SLCS, BPL-Z (ZPL), or BPL-E (EPL) emulations. Additionally, SDKs and drivers are available for Windows, Android, or iOS devices, provided the printer is to receive its data through these channels.
