Carl Valentin Vita V Midrange Label Printer

The new Carl Valentin Vita V is a versatile mid-range label printer and the successor to the Vita II. It is available in both direct thermal and thermal transfer versions. The Vita V is suitable for medium print volumes and operates at a print speed of up to 200 mm/s. Thanks to its small size for a mid-range printer, its compact design, and an operating temperature range of 5°–35°C, the Vita V can be used in virtually any area of a business.

The Vita V comes equipped with an LCD graphic display and several hardware buttons, making it very easy to operate. A side viewing window on the Vita V allows you to monitor the consumption of labels and transfer ribbon, so that roll changes can be planned well in advance. All standard media options, such as dispensers, cutters, and winders/unwinders, are also available. It should be noted, however, that the dispensing options of the predecessor model, the Vita II, are not compatible, whereas the cutters and winders/unwinders are. Despite its robustness and advanced technical features, the Vita V also leaves nothing to be desired in terms of design and has remained virtually unchanged compared to its predecessor, the Vita II.

The Vita V is available in 200 dpi, 300 dpi, and 600 dpi (thermal transfer model only) and has a print width of 104 mm to 108.4 mm, depending on the selected configuration. By default, labels must be wound on a 40 mm core, although an optional core adapter for 75 mm cores is also available. The Vita V offers great flexibility when it comes to materials, as it works exceptionally well with paper, cardboard, and plastic labels. For the thermal transfer models, a ribbon on a 1-inch core with a maximum outer diameter of 80 mm is required. The ribbon may be up to 110 mm wide and 450 m long. Anyone who already has compatible labels and transfer ribbon for the previous model can continue to use them.
On the new Vita V, the label guide is now controlled by a spring-loaded disc with an adjustment ring at the unwind, making it slightly more stable than on the previous model. The supply and take-up rollers for the transfer ribbon have also been modified: They are now made of profiled spring sheet metal, and the adjustment screws are covered, thereby reducing the risk of injury when changing the transfer ribbon and preventing unintended adjustment of the screws. The Vita V also offers a new Quick Change Pressure Roller option (available only from the factory; cannot be retrofitted), which allows for quick replacement of the pressure roller by removing the cover and using a plug-in system. It should also be noted that the thermal print heads from the previous model are not compatible.
