The Bixolon XM7-40 is a rugged mobile printer with a maximum print width of 104 mm. It prints on media with a width of 50–112 mm using direct thermal technology, with a print resolution of 203 dpi and a maximum print speed of 127 mm/sec. The labels should be wound on a 12 mm or 19 mm core and must not exceed a maximum outer roll diameter of 66 mm. The XM7-40 is also available in a linerless version. The XM7-40 is IP54-rated and can withstand multiple drops from 1.8 m onto concrete, making this printer robust enough for use in harsh environments and fully suitable for industrial applications. The printer can be used at operating temperatures ranging from -15° to 50°C and offers various carrying options, such as a belt or shoulder strap. Thanks to its weight of approximately 360g, including the battery, the XM7-40 can easily be carried by an employee for an entire shift. Additional accessories, such as a battery charger and vehicle mounts, are also available. The XM7-40 can also be charged via a USB-C port. The high-capacity 6,800 mAh battery, along with the power adapter and belt loop, is included with the printer.
The XM7-40 features a TFT display with a resolution of 240x320 pixels, which can be used, for example, to adjust settings and check the printer and battery status. Thanks to various sensors, such as the GAP sensor and the black mark sensor, the loaded media is automatically detected. The XM7-40 supports various printer languages such as BPL-Z (ZPLII), SLCS, BPL-C, and BXL/POS, and thanks to a variety of available drivers and SDKs, the printer can be connected to virtually any system and receive print jobs from a wide range of devices. As standard, the XM7-40 features USB and RS232 interfaces for connectivity. However, depending on the printer’s configuration, you also have the option of Bluetooth V5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. In addition, the XM7-40 features 128 MB of RAM and 256 MB of flash memory, or optionally even 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of flash memory.
