Carl Valentin Compa V Midrange Label Printer

The new Carl Valentin Compa V is a versatile mid-range label printer and the successor to the popular Compa III. The Compa V can print labels using both thermal transfer and direct thermal methods, provided the appropriate material and print head are used. It is well-suited for medium print volumes and is also available with an optional applicator, enabling the automatic transfer of printed labels onto products. This is accomplished using a stamp that uses vacuum technology to draw the label in and then transfer it. This function is sensor-monitored and can be adjusted for various materials.
The Compa V features an LCD display and several buttons, as well as a transparent plastic cover that can be folded back, allowing it to be opened in a space-saving manner for media changes. This also makes it easy to monitor material consumption from the outside, so that label or transfer ribbon roll changes can be planned well in advance. Thanks to this design, the Compa V is both visually appealing and easy for your employees to operate. The proven design remains unchanged from the previous model. Nevertheless, the printer is also quite robust and operates reliably at an operating temperature range of 5–25°C, making it suitable for use in virtually all areas of a business.
The Compa V is available in 200 dpi, 300 dpi, and 600 dpi resolutions, resulting in a maximum print width ranging from 104 mm to 162.6 mm, depending on the model. The available label formats also vary accordingly. However, it is important that the labels have a core diameter of 40 mm or 76 mm (with an optional additional core) and that the label roll has a maximum outer diameter of 205 mm. Fanfold material is also an option. The corresponding ribbon for thermal transfer printing can have a maximum outer diameter of 90 mm on a 1-inch core and a length of up to 600 m. This means that the labels and transfer ribbon from the predecessor model, the Compa III, can still be used. Additional media handling options are available for purchase, such as a cutter, peeler, and unwinding and rewinding devices, which are also identical to those of the Compa III.
Looking at the changes compared to the previous model, the Compa III, the only external change is the position of the ports on the back of the printer. An SD card can now be used instead of a Compact Flash card. Additionally, a USB host port is available, and Wi-Fi can be used optionally via a USB dongle. The serial port, USB, and Ethernet ports are also still available.
