The Point Mobile PM560 is a rugged handheld terminal designed specifically for demanding applications in warehouse logistics, inventory management, and manufacturing. As the direct successor to the proven PM550, this MDE device retains its ergonomic pistol-grip design but features significantly more powerful hardware under the hood. A Qualcomm octa-core processor with a 2.0 GHz clock speed, combined with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, ensures smooth operation even during computationally intensive logistics and retail applications. The Android 11 operating system can be upgraded to Android 14, allowing businesses to benefit from long-term software support. Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MU-MIMO antenna technology is available for wireless connectivity to modern corporate networks, ensuring stable and fast data transmission even in heavily congested Wi-Fi environments. Class I Bluetooth version 5.0, including BLE support, also enables reliable connectivity with peripheral devices. Particularly useful for inventory management is the integrated BLE beacon function, which allows the PM560 to transmit location signals for up to six months even without the main battery, making it ideal for asset tracking.

When it comes to ruggedness, the PM560 sets a clear standard in the handheld terminal sector. The housing can withstand drops from a height of 1.8 meters onto a concrete floor at room temperature, as well as drops from 1.5 meters across the entire operating temperature range. In addition, the device withstands 500 tumble cycles according to IEC 60068-2-32, which corresponds to the durability required for everyday use against repeated impacts. The IP65 protection rating ensures that dust and water jets cannot damage the MDE device, while Corning Gorilla Glass protects the 4.3-inch IPS display—with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels—from scratches and impacts. With a brightness of 450 nits, the screen remains easily readable even in direct sunlight. For data entry while wearing gloves, users can choose between an alphanumeric or numeric physical keyboard with tactile key feedback. Data capture is handled by one of three selectable scan engine modules (SE4750, N6703, or N6803 FR), all of which reliably scan 1D and 2D barcodes. Thanks to Enterprise Hot-Swap, the screen remains active during a battery change and displays a countdown, allowing employees to perform the change without interrupting their workflow.
