The Point Mobile PM85 was specifically designed for rugged, everyday use in retail, transportation, logistics, and the public sector. With IP67 certification, the device is completely dustproof and can easily withstand brief submersion in water. In addition, the PM85 meets the MIL-STD-810G standard and can withstand drops from 1.8 meters onto concrete, rather than the usual 1.5 meters. A tumble test consisting of 1,000 cycles—or 2,000 impacts—from a height of one meter further confirms the device’s high build quality. The 5-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels is protected by scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and supports touch operation even when wearing gloves or in wet conditions. The PM85 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, combined with either 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. This ensures that even demanding business apps run smoothly and reliably. The removable battery is available in either a 2,900 mAh version or an extended 5,800 mAh version and, thanks to a hot-swap buffer battery, allows for uninterrupted battery replacement during continuous use.

A key feature of the Point Mobile PM85 is its high-resolution 1D/2D scanner with white LED illumination, which reliably captures even fine 1D barcodes with a resolution of 3 mil as well as colored codes. Optional OCR and EasyParse functions are available, allowing the device to read not only traditional barcodes but also driver’s licenses, boarding passes, and vehicle parts. In terms of connectivity, the PM85 offers built-in LTE, high-speed Wi-Fi according to IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac—including 802.11r for seamless roaming—Bluetooth 5.0 with BLE support, and NFC for contactless applications. Location tracking is provided by GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou for precise positioning worldwide. For communication in the field, the device features two noise-canceling microphones and dual speakers with up to 3 watts of output power, which clearly and distinctly reproduce PTT and VoIP applications. The PM85 can be charged and connected to peripherals via the USB Type-C interface. For device management in enterprise environments, the PM85 supports Android Zero-Touch Enrollment as well as the EmKit software package—including EmKiosk, Direct Clone, and Scan2Stage—supplemented by up to seven years of update support through the PULS Service.
