The Zebra 220Xi4 is the ultimate high-end industrial printer. It is frequently used, for example, to print on large labels for chemical drums, shipping containers, or raw metal parts, as well as in the automotive industry. The 220Xi4 is available with either 203 dpi or 300 dpi resolution and can also be equipped with additional media options such as a cutter, peeler, or rewinder.

With a maximum print speed of 254 mm/sec, the 220Xi4 prints labels using either direct thermal or thermal transfer methods, with label widths up to 224 mm and lengths up to 991 mm. The maximum print width is 216 mm. Label rolls can have an outer diameter of up to 203 mm, while a 76 mm core is required. For thermal transfer printing, a transfer ribbon compatible with the labels is required, featuring a 1-inch core and a maximum outer diameter of 81.3 mm. Thanks to its robust steel housing, it can also be set up in harsh environments, such as on the production floor. A transparent side media door also allows you to monitor media consumption at any time, so that a replacement can be scheduled in a timely manner. The 220Xi4 features an LCD display where, for example, print settings can be configured. Password protection can also be programmed for the display, ensuring that employees who are not authorized to access it cannot alter the printer settings. From a technical standpoint, the 220Xi4 is also very well equipped: It features an RS232 and USB port, in addition to configuration via an Ethernet connection (via an internal ZebraNet 10/100 print server) and, optionally, via a Wi-Fi interface. It also features a 32-bit RISC processor running at 133 MHz, 64 MB of flash memory and 16 MB of SDRAM, and an internal real-time clock (RTC). The 220Xi4 is controlled via the ZPL II printer language.
